After the Dam to Dam, I ran several shorter races through the summer and fall of 2013.
The Party in Pink 5K was on June 28, and my time was 35:22, which was a PR.
I had a great run at the July 4th 5K and would have had a PR, but it was long at 3.28 miles. My official time was 36:28.
Then I had the Hard Charge obstacle course mud run with my MRJ team on July 20th. Steve Henely, Jake Sutherland, Jake's fiance, Nic Stout, Tim Hutchinson, and me. We had a BLAST! It was a great team activity, and I'm so glad we did it.
I ran the Aiming for a Cure 10K on August 24. It was longer than it should have been also, by half a mile, so really 11K. Luke finished in 53:20 and got another trophy. I finished in 1:18:11 and barely missed last place. Oh well. It was a nice race route, and I felt good getting out there.
I ran the Flaughless 5K on September 21, and I took Maya with me for that one. She loved it, and she was the bell of the ball with people giving her loads of loving attention.
I didn't have another race until the Space Coast HM on Dec. 1, 2013. My long runs training went very well all the way up until the middle of November when I had a mysterious sharp pain in my right ankle. It went away 3 days later just as mysteriously and didn't cause me any problems.
